Local Initiatives
In recent months Hexham Rotary Club have supported youth activities by funding or partially funding the following activities or events:

  • Weekend  team building sailing trip for four youngsters
  • Attendance at a national music festival for a local folk band
  • Youth activities in the Haydon Bridge and surrounding areas
  • Outreach activities in parts of Hexham organised by Hexham Youth Initiative
  • Funding for ongoing work at the Queen Elizabeth High School (QEHS) Walled Garden
  •  

 Exchange Visits.  Each year the Rotary Youth Exchange programme sends many young people, aged between 15 and 25 years of age, on the adventure of a lifetime. Rotary's Youth Exchange includes Long Term Exchanges, Short Term Exchanges, New Generations Exchanges and Camps and Tours.  For more information see http://www.youthribi.org/

Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is a leadership training program for young people. Participants can be aged 14-30.  RYLA emphasizes leadership, citizenship, and personal growth.  For more information see http://www.rotaryribi.org/committees/reports.asp?rscID=18
